1. Who we are
StudyCapy is a mobile application published by Takoji LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company (“Takoji,” “we,” “us”). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect when you use the StudyCapy mobile app and the website at studycapy.com(together, the “Service”), how we use that information, who we share it with, and what choices you have.

2. Information we collect
Account information
When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your email address, a unique identifier from that provider, and (if you choose to share it) your name. You can change or remove your display name in the app at any time.
Study material you upload
When you create a quiz, you provide source material in the form of photos, screenshots, or PDFs (your “Content”). We store this Content so you can revisit your quizzes. It belongs to you.
Usage and device information
We automatically collect information about how you use the app: screens you visit, features you tap, quizzes you complete. We also collect technical details about your device (model, operating system version, language, crash diagnostics). This helps us improve the Service and fix bugs.
Subscription information
If you purchase a subscription, the payment itself is processed by Apple through the App Store. We never see or store your payment card details. We do receive your subscription status from our subscription management provider so we can give you access to paid features.
3. How we use it
We use the information described above to:
- provide the Service: create your account, generate quizzes from your Content, and track your progress;
- send the Content you upload to our AI provider so it can generate quiz questions (see §5 below);
- understand how people use the Service so we can improve it;
- detect, prevent, and respond to abuse, fraud, and security incidents;
- communicate with you about your account, important changes to the Service, and (only if you opt in) product updates;
- comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your Content with advertisers, and we do not use your Content to train any AI model.
4. Third-party processors
We use a small number of carefully chosen vendors to operate the Service. Each one only processes the data it needs to do its job, under a contract that requires them to keep it confidential and secure.

5. AI processing disclosure
When you create a quiz, we send your Content (the photos, screenshots, or PDFs you upload) to Google Gemini so it can generate quiz questions. This processing is transient: Google processes the Content to return the quiz, and per our agreement with Google, your Content is not used to train any Google AI model.
AI-generated quizzes can contain mistakes. Always cross-check anything important against your original source material. The Service is not a substitute for professional medical, legal, or financial advice.
6. Data retention & deletion
We keep your account information and Content for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from the in-app settings; doing so permanently removes your account, your quizzes, and your uploaded Content from our active systems within 30 days.
Some information (such as billing records and security logs) may be retained for longer when required by law or for legitimate business purposes such as fraud prevention.
7. Children
StudyCapy is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below those ages. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at hello@studycapy.com and we will delete it.
8. Your rights
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom (GDPR)
You have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- request that we correct inaccurate data;
- request that we delete your data;
- request a portable copy of your data;
- object to or restrict certain processing;
- withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent;
- lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
The legal bases we rely on are: contract (to provide the Service you signed up for), legitimate interests (to improve and secure the Service), consent (where you've opted in), and legal obligation.
If you are in California (CCPA / CPRA)
You have the right to:
- know what personal information we collect about you and how we use it;
- request that we delete personal information we have collected from you;
- request that we correct inaccurate personal information;
- opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. Note that we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA;
- limit the use of sensitive personal information (we do not use sensitive personal information for purposes that trigger this right);
- not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

9. International data transfers
Takoji LLC is located in the United States, and most of our processors store and process data in the United States or the European Union. When we transfer personal data out of the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses adopted by the European Commission or equivalent transfer mechanisms.
10. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards (TLS encryption in transit, encrypted storage at rest, and access controls) to protect your information. No system is perfect, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe your account has been compromised, please contact us immediately.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we'll update the Effective date at the top and notify you in the app or by email. Your continued use of the Service after the changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
